National Application Center :: college selection

Plan, explore, and apply to college using these great tools.

You are currently facing one of the most important decisions in your life: choosing the college which is right for you. Each college possesses a different personality based in large part on the type, size, location, cost, campus life, academics and student body. Ultimately, you will have the best chance to succeed and graduate if the colleges you choose match your personality and academic goals. If you want some extra guidance, you have come to the right place. You are currently in our College Matching Wizard. If you already have an idea of the kind of college you would like to attend, try our short version, the College Finder. If you would like extra help in choosing a college, continue in the College Matching Wizard. You can switch to the College Finder at any time if you don't need the extra help.

Remember, the information in this section should only be used as a guide. Sometimes the information provided to us is not 100% complete and specific campuses may differ from the guidelines provided. Before making a final decision, we recommend that you personally visit the campuses which look most promising, and speak with professors, students, and counselors. Since it is not practical to visit every college, we offer the College Matching Wizard to help you eliminate colleges that may not match your needs.

In this section, you will be asked about your interests and preferences for the college which you will attend. We will provide short explanations, definitions and list the advantages and disadvantages of each selection. We hope this will guide you to the colleges that is right for you.
