Application Information

United States Applicants

  • Before filling out the application, you must create an account.
  • When you have finished filling out the application; you must pay the $35 online application fee via credit card.  
         
    • If you are applying for re-activation in the same program, within 2 years of your acceptance at Bloomsburg University, please contact our office directly before you complete any application.
    •  
  • Have your official college or university transcripts sent directly to our office at the address indicated in the "Contact Us" section. The Transcripts must arrive in a sealed envelope. Graduates of Bloomsburg University do not need to submit their BU transcripts.
  • All other application materials must also be sent directly to the address indicated in the "Contact Us" section.  
         
    • Please refer to the "To Do List" on your BU student account for specific program application requirements.
    •  
  • Files are not reviewed until ALL materials required for the program are received in the School of Graduate Studies.

International Applicants

  • Before filling out the application, you must create an account.
  • When you have finished filling out the application, you must pay the $60 online application fee with a credit card.
  • Have your official college or university transcripts sent directly to our office at the address indicated in the "Contact Us" section. The Transcripts must arrive in a sealed envelope. Graduates of Bloomsburg University do not need to submit their BU transcripts.  
         
    • Submit credentials to an outside evaluation agency for course-by-course transfer evaluations. Typically our students use the World Educational Services at www.wes.org

  • All other application materials must also be sent directly to the address indicated in the "Contact Us" section. Please refer to the "To Do List" on your BU student account for specific program application requirements.
  • English Language Equivalency Tests 
         
    • Submit the results of the Test of English Foreign Language (TOEFL) if the applicant's native language is not English. Minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 590 on the paper test, 243 on the computer, and 100 (minimum of 20 in each category) on the web-based test.

    • We will also accept official scores of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 7.5.
  • A Foreign Student Financial Statement: All international Graduate students are required to submit a Certified Bank Statement in English and converted to US Dollars verifying they have a minimum of $36,990 US. If a sponsor is someone other than a parent, the sponsor's bank statement must meet the above requirements and include the name of the student being sponsored OR a Financial Guarantee from your country of citizenship may be submitted.
  • A copy of your current valid passport and/or visa.
  • Files are not reviewed until ALL materials required for the program are received in the School of Graduate Studies.

Bloomsburg University is committed to assisting all members of the community in providing for their own safety and security.  The annual safety, security and crime statistics report as well as the fire safety and fire statistics are available on BU's Annual Security Report This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Bloomsburg University or student organizations that are officially recognized by the institution; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.  The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault and other matters.
