Steps in Applying for Financial Aid:
1. Apply and be accepted for admission to Bethel University.
2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year after January 1 but no later than February 5th to ensure consideration for all federal and state grants. Tennessee residents need to be especially mindful of this date as our Tennessee Grant (TSAC) has been out of funding by February 15th the past several years.
3. Secure a PIN number for yourself and one parent (unless independent) by going to www.pin.ed.gov Once you have obtained these pin numbers then go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the correct years application listing Bethel University school code 003480 as your first school of choice. Finalize this application using your pin numbers to sign electronically. Filing electronically provides the quickest means of processing your data.
4. If you wish to file a paper application request one from you high school guidance counselor, a financial aid office at any college, or from Bethel University. Complete this application (being sure you and one parent sign the form) and use the pre-addressed return envelope to submit.
5. Please note that only natural parent/stepparent or adoptive parent information is to be used on this application for dependent students. In the case of divorce, use the parent/stepparent financial and family information with whom you reside. Grandparent or guardian information is not allowable.
6. Note that the first Tennessee school listed on the FAFSA will be assigned any Lottery or TSAC funds you may be eligible to receive. You can request a transfer of funds if you decide to attend a different instate school.
7. Financial aid award packets will be offered only after ALL requested documents and paperwork have been received and reviewed by the University. |
