ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As Jane Addams’ college in the 21st century, Rockford College takes pride in standing out in our community. Princeton Review has named us as one of 81 “Colleges with a Conscience.” We are one of 76 institutions recognized by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in its Community Engagement Classification. We care about the future of our students and our global community.

Rockford College’s first valedictorian, Jane Addams went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931. Today, she is the ultimate role model for those of us who study, live, and work at Rockford College. If you’re like Jane, you’re both a critical thinker and a social activist. You have a good mind, a big heart and you’re actively involved in efforts to make life better for other people.

If you’re nodding your head in agreement, I invite you to learn more about Rockford College. Like many other colleges, we have a beautiful campus, great professors, small classes, a competitive sports program, a full student life calendar, and more than 70 majors, minors and concentrations to choose from.

What makes Rockford College different, then? Our passion for social justice and civic engagement. We’re not “preparing” to make a difference in the world. We’re making a difference now by working in soup kitchens, serving as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, even building homes with Habitat for Humanity.
