ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Freshmen - Traditional Students

Students who have never enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a baccalaureate degree are considered as traditional students.  The following minimum requirements must be met in order for a student to be considered as a freshman:

Guaranteed Admission: Applicants with less than 30 hours of transferable college credit will need to meet freshmen requirements to be guaranteed admission. See below for specific documents for admission and registration.

· EGC Application for Admission and $20.00 non-refundable application fee.

·  Official High School Transcript

The transcript needs to indicate type of diploma received (college preparatory or technical/career) and date of graduation. Certificates of performance or special education diplomas are not acceptable. All transcripts will be evaluated for Required High School Curriculum completions regardless of the type of diploma received.

Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA):

· Applicants with a college Preparatory Diploma must have a 2.0 GPA in academic coursework.

High school seniors who submit a transcript prior to their graduation will be guaranteed admission pending a final transcript and passing Entrance Exam scores.

Applicants who received a General Education Development (GED) diploma need to submit official passing GED scores as well as official high school transcripts of any coursework completed.

·  Official College Transcript(s)

Transcripts from each college, university, or technical school attended must be submitted.

Applicants must be eligible to return to the institution they last attended.

Applicants who previously attended a college or university and have less than 30 semester hours of transferable college credit must meet freshman requirements.

· Applicants born or educated outside of the United States should see International Student Admissions and Advising for additional requirements.

·  All required immunization records

· Entrance Exam testing (COMPASS) if required.

*NOTE:  Freshman applicants who score less than 430 on the verbal SAT (17 on the ACT) or 400 on the math portion of the SAT (17 on the ACT) or have a CPC deficiency in English or math will be required to take the Compass placement exam  in the applicable area(s) to determine acceptance placement in first semester courses. These exams in English, Reading, and Mathematics are given 8am -3pm Monday – Friday of each week, excluding holidays. There is no cost to take this exam.
