CAMPUS SUMMARY
Cornell, founded in 1865, is a private, not-for-profit, co-educational, nonsectarian institution of higher learning chartered and operated under Laws of the State of New York. Although a private institution, Cornell is also the land-grant institution for New York State. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Architecture, Art, and Planning; Arts and Sciences; Engineering; and Human Ecology; and the Schools of Hotel Administration and Industrial and Labor Relations. Its 745-acre campus is located in Ithaca, 52 miles from Syracuse.
