Sinte Gleska, founded in 1970, is a public liberal arts university and is tribally controlled and charted by Rosebud Sicangu Lakota Tribe (Sioux). The University is chartered to provide higher education and community development opportunities to tribal members and others living on or near the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in south-central South Dakota. Its rural campus is located 90 miles from Pierre; 240 miles from Sioux Falls.
