CAMPUS SUMMARY
The Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing is a two-year Associate degree program, preparing graduates who are eligible to apply for licensure as registered professional nurses. Founded in 1904 as a single purpose institution, the school’s mission is to prepare graduates to utilize the knowledge and skills necessary to think critically, problem solve and collaborate with other health team members in providing high quality, culturally sensitive and compassionate care. The school is located in the historic Gramercy Park section of Manhattan with easy access to parks, theatres, museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and music halls such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.


UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing maintains a fully equipped nursing practice laboratory and learning resource center with an extensive software collection. The science laboratory features a wide variety of the latest anatomical models. The students’ information needs are met by the Phillips Health Science Library, which contains over 15,000 books, 650 journals and audiovisual materials. A modem connects the school with the library’s research capabilities. The school is affiliated with Pace University, which offers the liberal arts component of the curriculum; students can register for Pace upper-division nursing courses while enrolled in the School of Nursing, and can utilize Pace’s library and multimedia center. In addition, sixty credits of coursework at the school will be applied toward the Bachelor of Science degree at Pace.
